Our PCA's helps with day-to-day activities: such as eating, dressing, grooming, bathing, meal planning and preparation, mobility, hygiene, etc. We not only strive to help you with everyday tasks but want to develop a caring relationship with you. We provide one-on-one attention and care that cannot compare in other settings.
Our caregivers provides auxiliary care for elders, children, and person with disabilities, living independently in their own community/home.
Our PCA are trained to intervene:
• Encourage healthy lifestyle changes including:
• Cultivate supportive relationships
• Encourage participation in various activities, explore interests
• To get regular exercise and sleep
• Engage in healthful eating which naturally boosts mood
• Encourage expression of thoughts and feelings
• Focus on strengths, point out positives, present options when available
• Manage day-to-day stress by utilizing coping skills
• Practice relaxation techniques; keep stimuli in environment at a minimum
• Re-approach as often as needed, be patient
Dressing: Includes laying-out of clothing; actual applying and changing clothing, orthotics, prosthetics; Transfers*, Mobility* and Positioning* done to complete this task.
Grooming: Includes basic hair care, oral care, shaving, nail care, applying cosmetics and/or deodorant, and care of eyeglasses and hearing aids.
Mobility: Includes assistance with ambulation, use of adaptive equipment (mobility does not include providing transportation).
Meal Preparation: PCA may assist with light meal prep, as requested and as needs arise
Light Housekeeping Tasks (essential household chores): Light housekeeping integral to personal care may include: washing, drying, and putting dishes, clean in and outside of refrigerator and stove, clearing tables and countertops, vacuuming carpet areas, sweep and wash floors, light dusting, general organization, taking out trash, making and changing bed linen, and cleaning bathroom (shower/tub, sink, toilet, floor).
Accompany to appointments / community activities
PCA may accompany to other community appointments or activities: as requested and as needs arise. Provide appointment reminders and assist with arranging any needed transportation.
The PCA choice option gives the client's the responsibility for hiring, training, scheduling and terminating their personal care assistants.
No matter what option you choose. We will take the time to get to know you and develop an individualized care plan that fits your specific needs. Our PCA/ Home Health Aide are trained to go above and beyond so that you can feel comfort in your own home and community.
